Sketchbook: "It Wasn't Supposed To Be Like This!"

Things often don't turn out the way we expect them to. Take today, for example. I thought that after spending 10 of the past 11 hours at work, I would have enough creative energy left for a sketchblog post while it was still technically Thursday. Instead, I find myself rather drained of insight, though thankfully I finished this drawing the other day.

Or take Dzeriel here. His day - in fact, his whole life - is turning out a lot differently than he thought it would. What's important, of course, is what we do when things take unexpected turns. In my case, it's writing a blog post that engages my mind no matter how tired I am. In Dzeriel's case...well, that's where the comic begins.
