Whether it's high fantasy or subtle dystopia, an imaginary world depends on great art to evoke its unique mood and landscape. I relish the challenge of immersing myself in a strange land and bringing its characters and stories to life.
I draw for RPGs, books, comics, concept art, collectible card games, board games - anything a little beyond ordinary. I don't have set rates for most illustrations, since the standards and budgets of small publishers vary widely. Contact me to discuss your project, and we'll decide on an appropriate fee, but please keep in mind I don't work for free or for royalties.
Character Portraits
As gamers, our characters are more than just jumbles of stats and pages of background notes. They're friends, comrades...children of a sort. We teach them and we learn from them, we revel in their victories and mourn their losses. In rare cases, they change our lives.
They deserve better than a hastily Googled drawing or a photo clipped from a magazine. Give them a lasting tribute - a portrait that is solely theirs. Group portraits are great for celebrating a milestone or even the end of a memorable campaign.

Choose A Medium:
Ink - The traditional comic book style, archival ink over pencils gives crisp black lines and looks great with color.
Sketch N' Wash Pencils - These watercolor-like pencils create a softer, more atmospheric effect with subtle shades of grey.
Pencils Only - Some people prefer the rougher, sketchy quality of pencil alone, with no inking.
Choose A Background:
None - Just the character, plain and simple.
Environment - Somewhere the character feels at home.
Collage - Images representing aspects of the character or important elements in their life.
All character portraits are done on 11" x 17" Bristol board. I do my ink cleanup and color digitally, so your finished commission will include the original art, a high-resolution digital file, and a print of the final artwork. You retain all rights to your character, and I reserve the right to use the art as an example of my work.
