A good friend requested this drawing of his character Xavier for his birthday. My ever-patient husband Seth spent an hour jumping around the front yard with a bokken (wooden training katana) so that I could get the stance and the swing right. It paid off when the art director for Wizards of the Coast reviewed my portfolio and observed that I handled the sword properly, instead of like a baseball bat.
This was the first full-color piece I did with Photoshop.
