A good friend of mine considers this portrait the "definitive" picture of his character, Draskireis Kensismai Martissal. Drask started life in my friend's fantasy novel, spent some time as an epic-level Forgotten Realms character, and awaits the day when his adventures will be published.
I had a great deal of fun studying artists' renderings of dinosaurs in order to work out the anatomy of a bipedal dragon, but I will never again draw that many scales! I used thin acrylics for the original art, but the color shown here was done in Photoshop as an experiment.
