I'm fascinated by synthesis in art and design. An image, a word, a color, an idea--each of these elements can be powerful individually, but combine them in the right way and the result is far greater than the sum of its parts. I pursue synthesis in all aspects of my work.
I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil and telling stories since I could speak. Comics and other visual narratives possess unimaginable power and beauty when done right, and that's what I'm working towards.
You could call me a fantasy artist, but I'm not really in this for the dragons. Or the werewolves, demons, cyberpunk warriors, etc. I draw other worlds because a twisted reflection of reality can sometimes tell us more about humanity than reality itself. Also, it's cool.
I first explored design while doing the layout for my high school literary magazine. The effect a particular font or image could have when paired with writing captivated me. In college, I found my passion where art and technology merge, and began teaching myself graphic design and web design. I've made a niche for myself as an artist who knows computers, to the benefit of many artists and art businesses.
Everything I do as an artist makes me a better designer, and vice versa. Great design delivers a message or tells a story with panache and power, and I love the challenge it presents.
